History of S.C.M. Munca si Arta

Sediu SCM Munca si Arta

Founded in 1952 by the merger of handicraft cooperatives: George Cosbuc, Femeia Muncitoare, Unirea Croitorilor, Mihai Eminescu, our society has a long tradition in garments.

Type of organization defines us, in accordance with the co-operative principles, as an autonomous association of persons established in order to promote the economic, social and cultural intersests in behalf of its members.

In March 1991 our company has turned into a commercial stock cooperative, and in September 2005 the General Assembly approved, in accordance with legal provisions, the current form of organization: craft co-operative society Munca si Arta with a capital worth 292,825 lei.

We are members of the International Co-operative Alliance and of the Professional Association of Ready Made Clothes and Knitwear Producers from Handicraft Cooperation in Romania.

Experience in the field, adequate technical equipment and qualified personnel allow us to create quality products and services at competitive prices, which recommend our company as a serious and reliable partner.

In this respect, long-term collaborations with prestigious public institutions: Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Interior, Department of Protection and Security, General Directorate of Customs, Metrorex, General Directorate of Prisons, but also contracts with new clients: Romanian Aviation Academy, security and protection private companies, cultural institutions, houses of cinema production and many others stand witness.

An important segment of our client portfolio is the population, with a wide range of garments in order, but also repairs in our specialized units.

In recent years our company has diversified the field of activity by providing consultancy for implementation and certification of management systems in compliance with international standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001), including obtaining grants for their achievement.

The results of the entire activity place us among the best quoted cooperation craft organizations in Romania.
